MONTREAL

HISTORY

The band was formed at 1993/94 and at that time Montreal began to play in several pubs and theaters having instantly a great acceptation of the local metal fans. In that year we recorded our first independent production «Rock and Roll» and a live demo, both of them was used to spread our name in several radio and TV shows. In 1995 we appear at the Madhouse magazine contest in two fields, first like «Best Independent production» and later like «Revelation band of the year». Also we kept appearing at different TV shows and playing in a lot of places and, our new demos «En Vivo!» and « Dame» were broadcasting at different radios like FM Rock and Pop, FM La Tribu and FM La Boca, and even at the «Headbangers» MTV´s show.

As time goes by we kept rocking, playing all over our country with another bands, with a lot of good comments of the press, recording new works like the songs «En este lugar», «Buenos Tiempos» and some clips captured at live shows (1998) “Sigue, Persigue, Consigue…”. Then, the best moment of the band did comes at the end of 1999 when our first album finally saw the light. It was called simply «Montreal», and the band formed by Gustavo Ruben (guitar), Gustavo Giacomassi (Vocal) Sebastian Mendoza (bass) and Sergio Marti (drums) reached the highest status as one of the best self-produced heavy metal bands.

Songs like «Maldita estación sureña», the instrumental «Dulce022» «Nunca mas» and «A la nada me condenan» was in the top of the radio rankings for many weeks.
A year later the three first songs were edited in a Video Home called «Presbicia» and the band appeared at a contest of «Epopeya» magazine, where Gustavo Ruben was chosen like one of the best guitarist and Mendoza one of the best bassists. The song «Maldita estacion sureña» and the album of the band were chosen between the best editions of the year.

In 2000 Gustavo Ruben was chosen at the fifth place for the best guitarist once again.
By that time Montreal played at several shows with important bands like Nepal, Visceral, O´Connor among so many. Then we played at Montevideo, Uruguay and we toured all around Argentina.

Since the first album was edited there were different and positives comments of the album at international magazines from Argentina, Germany, Japan, France, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico and USA.

Today the band have tree new musicians, Claudio Vattino at lead vocals, Gustavo Feanor Acosta in bass, and Emiliano Wachs in drums.

We have just recorded the new track «Corte final» and we are working at the production of the clip of the same song which was included in the «Hermandad metalica vol. 4» from the well knowed METALICA magazine, with bands like «Saxon» and «Tren Loco», also we have finished the cover song from the legendary local band “BLOKE” called “Paraiso Infernal” in a very personal style, that song is going to be included as bonus track with bands like RENACER, TREN LOCO, GARGOLA, etc in the re-edition of the album “DEMOLITION 2002” from that band planned for this year.

Right now MONTREAL re-oriented our propose to something more in the Black Sabbath vein, and the new songs are even more raw and metal than before, the fresh blood of the new members set MONTREAL one step ahead of most local bands that are playing soulless melodic power metal or new metal crap, so if you want guitar riffing, screaming bloody melody voice, and a great and pompous sound of drums and bass, MONTREAL will be your natural choice.

For those who are tired of to heard always the same kind of bands and sounds, for those who loves melodies from guitar riffing over classical tralala keyboard stuff, and for all metal lovers all around the world the new MONTREAL is here to stay... FOREVER...

After participating into the Metalica Fanzine Cd compilations, 2004 is shocked because ENTRE EL BIEN Y EL MAL, release which manifest, once and again, the Montreal musical skills.
At the same time and avoiding any tranquility, Montreal recorded Manowar's Fast Taker which is going to be part of the first Manowar tribute in South America edited by Metalica Fanzine and Hurling Metal.

Soon, live shows will show the power of Montreal!!
